Hansel and Gretel: The Witch Hunter is directed by Tommy Wirkola, this movie is an adaptation from German Folktale "Hansel and Gretel" that written by Brother Grimm. This story tells about an adult version of those two siblings which were "abandoned"by their parents in the deep forest when they were little. At that time, they saw a house made by candies, they couldn't resist the temptation which was given by that house. So, they started to eat that "house". Then, they entered to that house, in there they met a wicked witch. They were trapped in that house, the wicked witch made Gretel as her slave, and Hansel as her food. But because Hansel was too skinny for her, so she fed Hansel with a lot of candies. To shorten the story, finally with some intelligences, those two siblings could defeat that wicked witch. Started from that day, they became famous witch hunters who traveled from one village to another to make money by eradicating those witches. Until they come to Ausburg where there was a big issue that some of the children there were kidnapped by the witch. When they arrived at that town, they thwarted the execution of Mina who was accused as witch. To shoretn it again, they met the actual black witches who kidnapped those childrens. They found out Muriel was the one behind it all, she was the main reason behind the death of her mother too, Adrianna who turned to be a white witch which meant that both Hansel and Gretel were the witches as well. With the help of Mina that turned out to be the white witch as well, they could defeat Muriel and saved the children there, and ofc earn some money.

Next, the romance which is tried to be involved in the story is just , I don't know I don't really like it. Instead of Mina and Hansel, I think the chemistry between Hansel and Gretel were bigger and more believable.

But besides that, the effects from this story is stunning. I like it~a lot. In brief, for you who like action-horror dark fantasy film with black comedy elements, you'd better watch this. But you who prefer a soft kind of movie, you'd better watch other movies ;)
